Hi! I’m Jeanne Jachna, I’m a stay at home mom to two teenagers and a new Akita Puppy. I live in Northwest Indiana near Chicago and love to paper craft. My obsession is card making! I like to stack on layers of paper, ribbons and embellishments. I can’t resist a new set of stamps, bling, big bows and colorful paper. My time crafting is a sweet escape and a fun way to express myself.
When did you start Scrapbooking?
I started scrapbooking when my children were young as a way to capture and preserve memories. Now that they are older and not so charmed by mom’s camera I’ve evolved into a card maker. I love sending home made cards and dressing up treats as a way to show people how much I care about them.
WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
I have a hard time pinning down my style. I gravitate toward layers, embellishments and trims, but I like mixing unexpected colors and elements for a more eclectic look.
WHEN DO YOU FIND TIME TO SCRAP?
I mostly craft at night while waiting for my teenagers to come home from work or a date. It’s usually very quiet – DH is already asleep so he can get up early for work the next day, and there are no interruptions.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLS PRODUCT?
I’m smitten with all the vintage images that PLS has. Many remind me of childhood storybook illustrations and fill me with a sense of nostalgia.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION?
I’m inspired by nature. I like to garden and bird watch. If the weather is fine you will find me outside planting, or picking flowers and vegetables. If the weather isn’t cooperating I will be indoors creating my own little paradise.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR TO SCRAPBOOK?
I mostly make cards – I love bright floral colors – reds, hot pink, orange, and yellow. They are like candy to my eyes because they make me happy.
