Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here with a Thursday Tip. If you have ever created with wet mediums, you must have noticed that your papers get bubbly when the medium dries. To my experience it is impossible to avoid that completely, but it really helps when you put your paper on a Silhouette or Cricut cutting mat. The more sticky your mat is, the better! I keep my background paper on the mat until the layout is completely finished. I even leave it on the mat when I photograph the layout. Like I said it doesn’t avoid getting bubbly completely, but it’s definitely easier to work with this way.
For this background I wanted to use a mask along with watercolors, but I probably used too much water so it all went running over the background. I let it dry to see how it would turn out and decided to leave it this way. You can still see some of the dots from the mask and I was meaning to create an ombre effect to mimic the sunrise. That worked out anyway. I added some black splatters and built some layers with papers and transparancies for a cluster behind the picture.
