  • Deborah - We bake certain cookies only at Christmas. A tradition my mother started in the 60’s!

We have friends and family over on Christmas Eve and have a wonderful celebration.

    Happy Holidays.ReplyCancel

  • Melissa Dehne - One of our traditions is to all get together and sing Christmas carols on Christmas day. We have video taped the event since the first video camera in the family. We also take a still photo of the group. It is fun to see the family continue to grow!ReplyCancel

  • Stacy Clark - Christmas Eve we all go for a family car ride and drive around to look at all the beautiful Christmas lights.
We get together with our friends a few days before and do a cookie exchange. It’s a easy and great way to have a selection of different desserts for after Christmas dinner.ReplyCancel

  • Jill W - My favourite Christmas traditions are Wifesaver breakfast Christmas morning at my parents and making gingerbread houses with my nieces. This will be my first Christmas scrapbooking, I’m so excited to get started.ReplyCancel

  • Margaret Spencer - Perhaps not all will identify with this, but one special ‘tradition’ in our family is taking fresh greens to the cemetery. We are a large and old family and have stayed in the same area for generations. Many family members are in one of our oldest, Victorian era cemeteries. It is a beautiful place. Magnolia, pine and holly make up the arrangements we leave on all the graves. It is a great time for family gatheting, story telling and remembeting.ReplyCancel

  • Vicki Parker - One of our favourite Xmas traditions is the McMum breakfast on Xmas morning – along the lines of a McDonalds breakfast but done Mums way. LOL. Just loved the blog hop especially Saras frame and great ideas for my DD from Megan 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Jenn Henrichs - My fav tradition is attending Christmas Candlelight service and watching all the children gather in the front for “story time” there is always one or two kiddos (usually mine) running across the stage, lolReplyCancel

  • jasmine - My favorite Christmas tradition (that we actually just started last year) is celebrating the 12 days of Christmas. Last year, I learned that the 12 days actually start on Christmas Day so it’s a really nice way to extend the celebrations! It makes it easier to slow down and really really enjoy the Christmas season. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Becky J - Oh my favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve…all 45 years of my life have been spent in my dear folks home on Christmas Eve with the 11 of us…we share a delicious meal, read from Luke 2 and open gifts one at a time…oh how my heart overflows with joy. My Mom has been battling Lymphoma for 2 years and the time together is even more precious!ReplyCancel

  • Sandy McClay - We also bake certain cookies, Norwegian ones….Rosettes, Spritz, Sandbakkels, and of course chocolate chip. I buy cutout already baked and decorate those, I buy like 1 dozen.

We started a tradition of having Mexican Food on Christmas Eve years ago with my brother and his family. It is just us now, but we continue that tradition!ReplyCancel

  • Carolyn - my favorite tradition is the Legend of the Candy Cane party I have every year with my Sunday School Class, and watching the lights my Dad puts up outside every year and my mother (now my sister does it) reading the Christmas story before presents are opened.ReplyCancel

  • kawine - Getting our tree! Or the Christmas shooting? Mmmmmh… well my family loves to go get the tree but, me, I love the memories and the shooting I do each year, it’s a favorite. Seeing my family growing! Yay! Thanks for the blog hop, wow, I discovered a lot of inspirating places I’ll sure visit often!! I just discovered Pretty Little Studio as well and I’m in love! My scrap mojo is definitely on!!ReplyCancel

  • marylouh - I am so glad I found your blog. I love the papers and the embellishments. They are so bright, crisp and clear. I’ll be back.
Now that it is just me and Bear, I turn all the lights off on Christmas Eve, just leaving the Christmas tree lit. I’ve got Christmas music in the background and I sit and think about all the wonderful past Christmas’s that I’ve had. Starting from when we were first married, the kids arrived, grew up and left, and the adults they are now and other traditions have changed. I always look forward to my Christmas Eve.
    thanks for having the hop.ReplyCancel

  • Melissa Ferrell - I love cutting a free Christmas tree and listening to holiday music while putting up decorations. Oh and you can’t forget the hot chocolate!ReplyCancel

  • Gina - MY favorite traditions are cutting down our tree and baking my Grandmother’s Spritz!ReplyCancel

  • Lisa C. - I love Christmas! Christmas Eve is spent at my mom’s house with all the family there. We have a big dinner and open gifts. It’s so fun! Another tradition is every time we travel somewhere, we bring back a Christmas ornament for our tree. It’s special to remember all those great times over the years.
Love the hop!! And thanks for the chance.ReplyCancel

  • Susan - We have several different traditions. The most important of which is – stockings! That goes even for big kids! When DH and I married he had not had a stocking since he was a little boy and had no idea how to fill one. I had to give him ideas – the most important of which is that a bag of M&Ms had to be in the toe of my stocking! We open our stockings first and then have breakfast. After that we open the presents under the tree. My DH has really gotten into the stocking thing and found some super-sized stockings for us to use. LOL Now that we are just 2 again – no little ones around, we actually just have stockings at Christmas. Well, maybe one or two under the tree but we really just want our stockings!ReplyCancel

  • chark - Gotta be the gingerbread houses the kids make. They’ve been doing it for years and although it’s a pain to make the houses, they will sit and get along for a long time while decorating.ReplyCancel

  • chark - fun hop! I enjoyed seeing the projects, especially the decorations! And it was cool to have these guest designers too!ReplyCancel

  • DEBBIE - We always open up one present on Christmas eve which is new pjs and then on Christmas day we get our picture taken as a family in the new PJ’s.ReplyCancel

  • marylouh - Have you picked winners for these prizes. some of the designers have listed their winners and some have not. Not sure where to go to see where winners are posted. thanksReplyCancel
