I don’t often work from sketches as I usually scrap without a plan I just kind of dive in! I fell in love with this one though as I saw lots of opportunities to layer on the Neapolitan goodies along with my photo. I chose a picture of my daughter’s new panda Crocs…she is in love with anything that has a panda on it or is pink so I broke my “no Crocs” rule when I saw these! I used my 3×4 punch to cut the picture and then layered it with one of the Vanilla Bean Shipping tags and a Cherry Vanilla Journaling Card to create the base of the LO. From there I embellished with lots of Neapolitan elements (Root Beer Float Sticker, Cherry on Top Garland Circles, my favorite Feather Die-cuts, Lemon Sherbet flair, and Paper Ribbons) I used alpha stickers and my Cameo to create the title for the corner and finished it off with some coordinating baker’s twine. By using a sketch I was able to create this LO in approx. 20 minutes.
Hello! It is Malika on the blog today. I always love working from a sketch and I really liked the soft colors in the background of this particular sketch… so I dug into my kid’s art supplies and found some watercolor paints. Since I am not really a water colorer, I took my chances and tried adding some soft color to the background of my layout. From here, I loosely followed the sketch with the placement of the photos and title. I used the sweet little forest animals from the Nature Walk collection to embellish my layout.
For this layout I used the awesome “Sand Castle” collection. The photos were taken in during the summer holidays in Portugal and just perfect for this collection. I just love that this collection has so many bits and pieces! Like the giant number “2”, the journaling cards, the banner flags, the bingo cards and the butterfly stickers. I love adding many items to my pages and that’s what I did!
