I stuck pretty close to the sketch to begin with, but after I finished making my card look like the sketch I felt like it was still missing something and added some more layers and goodies. I started by dry embossing my base cardstock. It was looking a bit too plain for me so I lightly ran some brown ink over the dots with my foam applicator. For the piece that is pink in the sketch I used one of the large woodgrain shipping tags from Baby Jack and then layered some woodgrain heart paper on top of that (also from Baby Jack). I used some darker woodgrain for the banner. To make the small flags I cut the long dark woodgrain flags from the Woodland Christmas collection in half and cut a triangle into the top portion. I layered some little heart stickers onto the flags for fun. Rather than put a sentiment above the banner like on the sketch I found that it fit better for me in the large space below. I layered a mini picture card with a tab and some flair to finish off the card.
I had lots of fun layering glitter cardstock, patterned papers and vellum and adding stickers, die cuts and flairs. I also love to add lots of small labels and tabs to add little details here and there. The gold letters are a must for me. Here i just used them to write one word of the title which I wanted to be the main focus of my page. When I play with gold like that, I like to stitch with a golden thread. It gives a nice finished look.

Hi everyone, here’s my take on today’s sketch. My daughter and her friend went to the One Direction concert in Amsterdam last Tuesday and took these photos. As they had VIP tickets with an “early entry” pass they stood right at front and had a magnificent view! Of course I wanted to scrap these photos straight away! As the 1D boys asked the Dutch audience to wear orange clothes I wanted to include some orange in my scrapbook layout as well and so I chose the “Baby Jack” collection. Don’t you agree that it’s just perfect for these photos?! I adore the colors and patterns of this collection and could happily use them over and over again! And have you seen those “wooden” hearts?! Aren’t they awesome?!!
Hope you like my page and wishing you a happy day!
