Pinterest Inspiration || Potpourri

Hey there PLS fans, it’s Aimee with today’s Pinterest Inspiration!

Using the Potpourri collection by Marie Capistran.

I may have been a little over joyed when I saw this image!

And I wouldn’t have ever thought of using Potpourri with this image!

In case you didn’t know, I pick the images for Pinterest Inspiration, and I had chosen the

images before we even got the schedule this month.

So, you can only imagine how happy these images landed on my day!!!!

Do you ever get a collection and decide it’s only for summer or it’s only for

Christmas and put it away when that season is over?

That’s basically what I did with Potpourri.

I saw the acorns and the maple leafs, and really couldn’t get past the fall/autumn images

I had in my mind for this collection.

Then Melissa and Marie aske the creative team to please use Potpourri with our spring projects.

WHAT?

It’s a fall collection. I mean I know it’s almost fall in Australia, but here in California we’ve got spring!

I then started looking at the collection and I could see the rainbow of colors.

And then like a light bulb turning on the name “potpourri” finally clicked with me.

Potpourri is a little bit of everything!

And I think it’s so awesome that my friends down under can be using the excatlly same

collection as me in a completely different season!

Whew that was a lot.

Now to tell you a bit about my layout!

I started of my separating my die-cut packs into ROYGBP order.

Once that was done another light bulb went off and I saw a rainbow circle!

And that’s how this layout was born.

I first traced a cereal bowl lightly with a pencil {so I could erase later if necessary}.

I then slipped my 8.5×11 piece of cardstock through my Typecast Typewriter, and journaled about my photo.

I then placed my die-cuts around my penciled circle in ROYGBP order.

The kite seemed to fit perfectly there and so I went with it.

After all, by die-cuts were placed and adhered, I stitched over them twice.

I placed my photo and layered over it.

Do you see the 2 banners? They had flag poles that I cut off and slipped into place.

That’s right I totally repurposed them.

And check out the little word sticker on the upper right hand corner,

yep that sticker was found in the “so much beauty” mini word stickers.

It fits perfectly here on my spring layout.

I’m curious what was your favorite collection that you used for

something other than its intended season/holiday/theme?
