It’s Heather here! I’m so excited to share my very first project that I have created using my newest collection, XOXO! This collection is valentine-themed, but there are pieces from it that can, of course, be used for everyday documenting. The photo I used on my layout today is actually from Christmas!
I had the idea to make my title fill up the entire page. I think I’ve seen other scrapbookers do this. I used some cardboard alphabet diecuts from my stash to use as a template for the letters in the title. I traced some of the letters before cutting them out and some of them I just held and cut around. I love the texture of sewing on my projects, so I added some machine stitching around each individual letter. I love how that turned out!
To add some interest to the white background, I watercolored some blobs behind each of the letters. I tried to match the paints to the colors in the papers, but I didn’t have some of the colors in my watercolor palette and I kinda failed mixing them! 😛
To finish off my page, I made a visual triangle with my embellishments. I have liked the more clean look lately, so I didn’t pile on too many elements on this page. Side note— I love how the black and white photo looks with the bright colors!
Have you picked up any of the XOXO collection? I hope you will check it out!
