12×12 | Silly Monkey

Evening, y’all!  It’s Jinny here today, popping in to share a page that utilizes lots of elements from our new Beautiful Day Collection, which I simply can’t get enough of, as well as some oldies but goodies.  Matter of fact, some of the older pieces that I’ve got going on today aren’t even in the store anymore; but that just goes to show how easy it is to put some of those bits and bobs that you may have purchased awhile back but were saving for just the right project to good use with your newer treasures.  I can’t say enough how much I love the way all of our collections work so well together.  So, let’s just dive right in.  Shall we?

I started this page by sketching a trio of pie charts throughout the 12″ x 12″ watercolor paper, base page and watercoloring each one in shades of red, blue, and green.  I then used those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, to splatter the page before stamping a number of stars, in Jet Black ink, throughout.  Several papers from the Beautiful Day 6×8 Paper Pack, as well as one Currently Journaling Card, were then die-cut into circles and framed with black-embroidery-floss, hand stitches.  I just love the Perfect Day Cut-Apart and My Life Flair Button you see here, too!

Once my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, were adhered in their respective locations, I began embellishing.  Moving clockwise from the photo above, I layered a couple of Colorful Blooms, separating the two with foam tape, and pulled a bit of that black embroidery floss to the front of the page to tie in a simple bow.  You’ll also see a little Easter Sunday 2016 journaling around one of those die-cut circles here.

The Silly Monkey Word Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, creates my title.  It was grounded with an Explore Word Die Cut

as well as a Silly Disco Mini Vintage Die Cut, peeking out from behind a couple of Greenery Die Cuts.  This exact die cut is no longer available; but if you love Silly Disco as much as I do, you can get him in his larger, die-cut size, as well as in his same mini, pink and blue counterparts, here.  A simple, bold, black “WHAT A PERFECT DAY” Perfect Day Cut-Apart, popped up with foam tape, draws the eye from the top straight down to the bottom of the page.

Another Perfect Day Cut-Apart

brings us back to the top of the page with a June 2017 Freebie word bubble, which I used to journal, “Peek-a-boo, Mommy!”  You love to find ways to make us laugh.  It’s bottom left corner was embellished with a couple more Greenery Die Cuts, as well as a Park Bench Cut-Apart.  All three elements here were, once again, popped up with foam tape.  Gotta love a little dimension!  And a scattering of Ocean Blue Confetti stars complete the look.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  Have a remarkable work week, Pretty Little Studio friends!  XOXO
