Pinterest Inspired 12×12 | Fun Times

Morning, y’all!  It’s Jinny here today, sharing a page inspired by the Pinterest photo below.  I was drawn to the soft palette and all those fabulous stars; and the yummy ice-cream swirls reminded me of the super-fun, shaving cream marbling art technique, which I hadn’t done in a far too long.  So, my kiddos and I decided it was high time we put an end to that fast and had a little marble-making morning together to help highlight a couple of photos, taken on the first and last days of class for our 2015-2016 school year.

I started this page by adding puddles and splatters of teal, aqua, and bright pink watercolor to the 12″x12″ watercolor paper, base page.  After stamping a number of stars, in Jet Black ink, throughout the design, I splattered everything once again; but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.

I then took one of the results of our creative play with shaving cream and Vivid Pink, Sunshine Yellow, and Paradise acrylic paints on watercolor paper; die-cut it into a variety of star sizes; and anchored most of those stars, throughout the page, with yellow-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  A couple were popped up with foam tape.  A quartet of prints, from several different collections, were anchored, with bright pink and aqua-threaded, straight stitches, behind where my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, would lie.  Both photos were then backed with a snippet of cheesecloth; and the left-side photo was additionally backed with a folded sheet of our Confetti Vellum, as well as a Dream Big Shipping Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow.

A “FUN TIMES” So Lovely Bingo card serves as my title.  It was backed with a striped Currently Journaling Card and topped with a Happy Ticket; “Be happy” June 2017 Freebie Die Cut, popped up with foam tape; My Life Flair Button; and Walk in the Park Die-Cut pennant, laced with white string…

to anchor the June 2017 Freebie Die-Cut balloon, popped up with foam tape.

A couple of labels house my stamped, in Jet Black ink, dates.  The bright pink one, as well as the black ampersand between the two, come from that same June 2017 Freebie Die Cut package mentioned twice already above; and the yellow one is a cut-apart My Everyday Picnic Label.

A “Hooray” foam phrase Thicker and my journaling ground the photos.  The journaling reads, Beginning and ending the school year right with a celebratory dinner @ Red Robin.

And a couple strips of patterned prints already used elsewhere on the page, both of which were anchored with machine-stitching, as well as a Park Bench Cut-Apart banner; Walk in the Park Die-Cut scallop; and another Happy Ticket, popped up with foam tape, ground the entire design.  Lots of pink and gold puffy and sequin stars, the latter of which come from our Baby Avery Yellow Confetti Mix, complete the look.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a terrific Tuesday, Pretty Little Studio friends!
