Evening, y’all! It’s Jinny here to share a page, putting to work one of our newer collections, Dream Big, and some pics of my niece, celebrating her 9th birthday. Enjoy!
I started this page by anchoring lengths of the Imagine and Shine prints, along the vertical left side of my 12″ x 12″ watercolor paper, base page, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching. I then applied a little gesso over them to prevent the aqua and pink, watercolor puddles, that I created next, from absorbing into the prints too much. A few stitched blooms, which were later embellished with Crystal 4mm Sequins, were then stamped, in Jet Black ink, throughout the design; before everything was splattered with aqua, pink, teal, and yellow watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints. That set the foundation for my photos, which were matted with white cardstock; trimmed, along their combined left side, with a Cameo-cut, from textured, white cardstock, scallop edge; and adhered, in their present positions, over a trio of prints, not to mention the hand-cut, Stay Awesome arrow, all anchored with more silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching.
A couple of Cameo-cut, from textured, white cardstock, blooms, both of which were grounded with color-coordinating buttons, laced with white string, flank my photo column. One can be seen above, peeking out from behind the Olivia Vintage Die Cut, which I popped up with foam tape. A “dream big” Hello There Word Flag, was tucked in just behind her bouquet.
Another Cameo-cut bloom can be found in a cluster with a “hello” Love You Sticker, adhered to white cardstock, hand-cut out, and popped up with foam tape; Courage Flair Button, embellished with a length of white string, tied in a bow; and a trio of So Sweet Word Die Cut flowers, which you’ll find scattered throughout the design, popped up with foam tape.
The “HB2U” title was made from Polka ABC Die Cuts, partially overlaid with the Love Clear Word Art and embellished with a Beautiful Bookmark Journaling Card butterfly.
A quartet of So Sweet Word Die Cuts, a couple of which were popped up with foam tape, trail down the right side of the page over another hand-cut section of that Stay Awesome print…
and a little bit of journaling, along with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, “HAPPY DAY APR 12 2009” date, completes the look. My journaling reads, It’s always such an honor getting to be with you as you celebrate your big day. Happy birthday, beautiful!
Thanks so much for humbling us with a visit! Have a wonderful rest of your week, Pretty Little Studio friends!
