12X12 | Love You

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is having a great week!  Today, I am sharing a 12×12 layout using the Blooming Hearts collection by  Zinia Amoiridou.  I love the soft colors and flower die-cuts in this collection!   The photo I used is a photo of my daughter’s first day of school as a high school freshman.  I can’t believe how fast time has flown by!  I am so excited for her to start a new chapter in her life and wanted to create a layout to commemorate it.

I started out with a 12×12 white sheet of card stock.  I used a template and some texture paste to create a textured background.

A splash of watercolor using watercolor crayons and an aqua pen added color to the textured background. I cut some pattern paper into strips and on some of the strips, I tore the edge of the paper for a layered effect. Then I added some flower die-cuts and embellishments.

Finally, I used a black marker and ruler to create the frame around the edge of the layout. I left spaces to add a scribble on each line of the frame. Handwritten journaling on a sheet of pattern paper completed the look.
