12 x 12 | Game Day

Welcome back, y’all, and happy June!  It’s Jinny here today.  Summer is officially upon us, and I’m kicking it off with a page that shows what much of my family’s summer looks like.  It uses another happy mix of collections but mostly Ain’t Life Grand.

I started this page by smudging Patina and Key Lime Glimmer Mists onto the textured, white, cardstock base page and splattering it with those same mists, as well as my customary, Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  I then anchored a horizontal row of stacked prints, near the top of the design, with black and blue-threaded, straight, machine stitches respectively.  That set the stage for my photo strip which was matted with white cardstock.  But before it found its place, I anchored three wide prints, including an Our Story 3×4 Journaling Card, hand-cut in the form of pennants, vertically and slightly at various angles, with more blue-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  Our Clark Vintage Die Cut steals the show popped up with foam tape at the base of those pennants.  I adhered a Just Saying Flair Button to his left…

and an Easy Breezy Shipping Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, to his right.

I added a “love life” Everyday Cut Apart below my photo strip just for an extra pop of lime green…

and a trio of Fluffy Clouds, along with a Life Noted Flair Button and chipboard sun from my stash, which I painted yellow and glittered, above it.

A happy, little stack of phrases surrounds the “game day” title, which was stamped with Jet Black ink, including our Love Clear Word Art; “EVERYDAY” Love Life Words Die Cut; and “SUMMER VIBES” Aloha Words Die Cut.

I then scattered a number of Shutterbug Stickers throughout the design.  Tip: For added dimension, back your stickers with cardstock and pop them up with foam tape.  This is a great way to stretch your papercrafting budget as well, because stickers tend to cost less than die cuts.

A little journaling completes the look and reads, This was your 1st and last season playing with the Saints.  They were a super colorful group of boys, but not the right fit for you.  I’m so glad you just go with the flow and love playing baseball no matter who it’s with.

Oh, and just a reminder that Marie’s stunning, summer-themed, watercolor die cuts are being given away all month long with every $25 purchase from the Pretty Little Studio shop.  Yay!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  Have a blessed June, Pretty Little Studio friends!
