Hi PLS fans! It’s Ashley, and I’m back today to share a new layout with you, using my new Ain’t Life Grand collection! I’m so excited to have the full collection, and I hope you’ve had a chance to stop by the PLS shop to check out! I love using die cuts on my layouts, and backing the open spaces with patterned paper. I used a large heart shape die cut for this layout, and a mix of the 6×6 and 8×8 papers from the collection, to fill in the open spaces.
Deciding on the colors for a collection, is my favorite part of the design process. I wanted this collection to include bold colors, and I love how they all coordinate together. I used a pencil to trace the open shapes of the heart and then cut out a little larger around each one. Then I placed it in the coordinating space. I like to alternate the colors and patterns, so each separate pattern stands out behind the cut file.
When I create a die cut background, I like to cluster my title and embellishments around the photo. I knew the Love Life Die Cut Words would make a perfect title. I love the contrast of black on a layout, and the Life Is Good title really stands out against the heart shape. There are so many fun items in this collection, and sometimes I have trouble not using one of everything on my layout!
Do you have a favorite item from the Ain’t Life Grand collection? I hope you’ve found some inspiration today for using the collection on your projects. If you haven’t had a chance to see the full collection, make sure you head over to the PLS shop to see everything that’s included in Ain’t Life Grand!
