Have you noticed the trend of palm leaves popping up in home decor and also in scrapbooking products? I am just loving these little shapes, so that inspired my layout for this post!
I found a free cut file of these little palm leaves and then cut several different papers from the Summer Vibes collection with my Silhouette Cameo. I had the page design in my head, so after I cut the leaves, I got to work implementing my plan. I wanted the bottom 2/3 to be all layered diecut palm leaves and then the remaining top third to be all white with the photo at the top right of the page. I stacked two leaves in some areas and sewed the middle with my sewing machine so the edges of the leaves could flip up a little bit. I like that you can see the patterns underneath if you angle the page just so.
I’m really happy with how this page turned out– the diecuts of the patterned paper tone down the bright patterns so it is not too overwhelming to look at the page.
I had a few extra diecut leaves, so I whipped up a card using basically the same products that I used on the above layout. It was super easy since I already had everything out on my desk. Do you ever make cards with your leftover scraps from the makings of a layout?
