Ad Challenge: Neapolitan Inspiration

When looking at the picture, the ice cream cones of course stand out. But so does the idea of them handing from string. Ice cream cones and string were the two not-so-obvious-elements in a layout about our pup. But play on “words” can be fun and creative. I am a fan of keeping it simple. And I also commonly use one picture in a layout to highlight a special or even everyday event. This allows one picture to tell the story.
I loved the mobile full of ice cream cones on this week’s inspiration photo, but I have been fixated on the Neapolitan Collection Butterfly stickers since I made my last layout. So, I kept my focus on the pastel colors and the same shape used repetitively in the inspiration photo, and I came up with this sweet piece of art using ALL of my remaining butterfly stickers. I simply applied mod podge to a square 6×6 piece of scrap wood and covered it with my background paper. I used a butterfly punch to create the base part of my butterflies, and I carefully glued the middle section of each sticker to the butterfly base shape. Then I glued each completed butterfly to the wood square. I love giving these little pieces of handmade art as gifts. They always brighten a friend or loved one’s day!
