12×12 | You Bring Magic in My Life

Morning, y’all!  It’s Jinny here today, sharing a little of how Zinia Amoiridou’s newest Blooming Hearts Collection has inspired me.  Enjoy!

I started this page by adding soft, watercolor puddles to the 12×12, watercolor paper, base page, which was torn down its right side.  Once it was dry, I speckled it with more of those same soft shades of watercolor, before smearing Patina Distress Ink through a stitched stencil and, once again, speckling everything, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  While everything was drying, I used my Cameo to cut a Pie Heart from watercolor paper and backed it with lots of happy, colorful prints, before securing it over my pretty “mess” with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  While I had my machine handy, I also stitched a strip of Bashful Blue cardstock down the right side of that torn edge to create a 12×12 base again.  My photo was then backed with a folded sheet of Raining Love Vellum, as well as a little, white, tissue paper for texture and a piece of our Gold Metallic You & Me print for shine.  It was then grounded with the “you bring magic in my life” title, which was created from a Soul Mates Die Cut, and a snippet of journaling, which reads, Loving on Ms. Debbie @ her retirement party from Cedar Roe Library.

The photo was also sandwiched between a Salt Lake Clear Shipping Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, on the right…

and a Picture Perfect Die Cut tab, etched with Treasure, Jan. 7, 2012, as well as a playful cluster of blooms, on the left.  The latter consists of two Blooming Die Cuts, popped up with foam tape; three hand-cut, from our Gold Metallic Lovely print, flowers; and a punched, vellum flower, embellished with a single, black pearl.

I stapled a couple of Soul Mates Die Cut pennants to the top of the photo and used our Noir ABC Stickers to create the word “LOVE” around the outside edge of the heart itself.

Another floral cluster can be found just right of top center of the heart.  It includes the same elements as the one described previously, as well as a Soul Mates Sticker flower, Just Saying Flair Button, and Soul Mates Die Cut “I ADORE YOU” banner.

Yet a third floral cluster can be found along the right edge of the Cameo-cut heart.  It, too, contains all of the same elements as the initial cluster, in addition to a couple of extra, punched, vellum blossoms and a large, Soul Mates Die Cut flower.  I’ve made sure to give you a different angle on this one in order to try to catch the sheen on those gold metallic bits.  They are so striking in real life.

A trio of Words from the Heart Stickers and single, trailing, Blooming Die Cut flower, popped up with foam tape, complete the look.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  Have a blessed week, Pretty Little Studio friends!

  • Lisa Elton - I love the mix of patterns in the heart and those sweet clusters of flowers! The black and white sentiment, florals and splash of speckles add just the right touch of drama. This is a darling page Jinny!ReplyCancel
