Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week. I have a layout to share with you using the Oakley Avenue collection by Ashley Horton. I have really enjoyed using the products from this collection so much that I decided to see what I could create with the products I had leftover. It was a perfect match for the photo taken at the cabin during spring break. The cabin we stayed in was near Nashville, IN. We had a wonderful time. It was so peaceful and relaxing.
I started out with a 12×12 piece of white card stock. I mixed some hydrous watercolor with Gesso to create the background. I needed letters for the title but of course I didn’t have any that matched so I painted the letters with gesso, let it dry, then painted the letters with hydrous watercolor paint. I placed bubble pop on top of the painted letters for added texture. I used tan and yellow card stock with a sheet of 8×8 clear Leaf Love to mat the photo. I also added a strip of torn paper (paper – changing colors) with curled edges to each side of the photo for added layers.
Next, I cut out leaves from the Leaf Love 8×8 paper and Leaf Love Clear. I crumpled the leaves and added them for embellishments. I completed my layout with journaling in my own handwriting. That was difficult because I am not a fan of my handwriting. I am always afraid of making mistakes but I love how journaling looks when it is written directly on the layout. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
