Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! For today’s blog post I decided to use one of my all time favorite collections, the Treasure Island collection. I adore the happy and bright colors in this collection and although the collection has a navy/beach theme (and my photos haven’t), I still thought that it’s perfect for these photos of my youngest playing in the garden.
I started with the large red journaling card “today is to be treasured”. The day these photos were taken we were celebrating the last Queen’s Day on April 30th here in The Netherlands. As of 1948 we have celebrated Queen’s Day on April 30, the birthday of Queen Juliana. When Beatrix became our Queen we kept on celebrating Queen’s Day on April 30th, but now Alexander is King we have a King’s Day on April 27. So as long as I lived April 30 was a National holiday and this one was the last … and that had to be celebrated and remembered! And that’s why I wanted to use this particular journaling card.
In the photos my son is jumping up and down on his jumping toy so I adhered arrow flairs pointing up and down:
and that’s also why I adhered these die-cut arrows up and down:
I adore the gold word stickers in this collection and just had to add one:
The yellow confetti stars are double sided, one side is yellow with white dots and the other is side looks like sand. I really love to use these, including the yellow sequins and gold little shells, to create a playful look on my page.
Here’s what I used to create this page:
- Treasure Island collection: Patterned Paper: Treasure Island Paper Pack 8×8, Cresent Reef 8×8, First Mate 8×8, Jolly Roger 8×8, Anchors Away Metallic Copper 8×8; Confetti: Gold Treasure; Cut-Outs: Let’s Go Phrase Strips, Mini Word Pirate’s Month, Sail Away Mini Bingo; Die-Cuts: Arrow Adventure, Feathers Polly Parrot, Ollie Octopus, Treasure Chest; Flair: Arrow Adventure; Frames: Faraway; Garland: Under The Sea Paper Ribbons; Journaling: Pirates Life 4×6; Stickers: Treasure Words, Adventure Gold.
