Hello everyone! I’m Zinia Amoiridou and I recently released my debut collection Blooming Hearts with Pretty Little Studio. I’m really excited to join the PLS design team and share with you some inspiration on how I use the collections I designed.
The layout I’m gonna share with you today is really fun and easy to make. I’m using some of my favorite mixed media supplies to jazz up my background and embellishments from my Blooming Hearts collection in coordinating colors.
I started with a light pink cardstock base and and I used pattern papers from the Blooming Hearts 6×6 paper pack to back some butterflies I cut with my Silhouette. After I decided on the positioning of the butterflies, I applied some white gesso behind them with a dry brush. Once the gesso dried, I used some watercolor powders to add color behind my butterflies.
So as I said earlier, I kept my embellishments coordinated by color. For example, around the yellow butterfly, I used yellow embellishments and so on. It doesn’t have to be the exact same shade, just around the same color family. Adding the embellishments like that really simplifies the process.
I used a variety of stickers and die-cuts from the collection trying to find the perfect colors and shapes for each of the clusters.
I really love mixing word strips from the die-cut pack and the sticker sheet as they have different sizes and in cases a tiny bit different color. That adds more variety and interest to my embellishing.
To go with my black and white photo I used the beautiful handrawn flower from the Soul Mates die-cut pack and some white word strips.
I really hope you like this page and that it will inspire you to create something fun with your Blooming Hearts supplies.
