12×12 | Fly Higher

Ohhhhhh, those lovely hot hair balloons in the Here Comes the Sun line just speak to me.  I’ve been waiting for the right photo to use these die cuts with, and I decided on a simple black and white photo of my girl

This layout started with the sun burst vellum, which I machine-stitched to my white cardstock.  Next, I used a file from The Cut Shoppe; the clouds are the perfect compliment to the hot air balloons.

I used more vellum from the Here Comes the Sun line to both back the cut file and cover the white hearts in the cut file. I used a Zig Two-way Glue Pen to adhere the vellum on the hearts and you couldn’t see it, total adhesive win!

For the title I added two die cut words, sewing them to the layout, and didn’t bother with a photo mat this time.  I felt that the vellum papers and cut file were enough, and using a black and white photo made it stand out against the soft colors of this collection.

I used washi tape stickers to back the word happy die cut in the cloud, then added flair on a thread nest to tie in the other stitching on the page.

I’ve been on a “soft” look kick lately, using lots of white with pops of color.

A few die cut hearts finished my page.  Thanks for stopping by the PLS blog today!
