Pinterest Inspired | Grade 3 Memories

Jinny Newlin_header

Morning, friends!  It’s Jinny here, sharing a page inspired by one of our September Pinterest Photos below.  I was drawn to the striking, black and white palette, with its pops of scrumptious greens and yellows, in the room design below, not to mention the trio of photos hung on the wall, and let it lead the way to this.

I started this page by using Creative Scrapper’s Boxed In cut file to Cameo-cut the pattern from textured, white cardstock.  That same cut file was used to cut a number of the shapes from a variety of different black and white prints.  I then nestled them into the original cut-outs; smudged Key Lime Glimmer Mist, onto the page, behind where my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, would eventually lie; and anchored a number of colorful prints, over that, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching, before splattering everything with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.

Both Chrysanthemum and Salt Lake Clear Shipping Tags were tied up with white string and tucked behind the top center of my photo strip.  They were then embellished with a Catmint Tab, which I used to stamp my “JAN 12 2012” date in Jet Black ink; All Day Flair Button, backed with a tangle of black thread…

and a gold metallic word bubble, stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the “you’re DOG-GONE awesome” phrase and popped up with foam tape.

The darling, little pup was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on watercolor paper; watercolored; hand-cut out; embellished with a Basic Black cardstock, die-cut bow; and popped up with more foam tape.  A hand-cut Camellia Phrase Strip was then tucked under its left side.

The opposite diagonal corner was embellished with a simple gold metallic arrow, secured with a couple of staples.

I then created my “GRADE 3 memories” title with Gold Metallic Number Die Cuts and a chipboard “memories”, which I painted with Pure Black acrylic paint; grounded with a Bonjour Die Cut; and embellished with a scattering of Baby Avery Yellow Confetti Mix and gold metallic stars, which can be found throughout the design…

not to mention a happy collection of die-cut and sticker phrases.

My son’s name was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a hand-cut, vellum pennant and tucked into the title itself to complete the look.

Thanks, as always, for visiting us, folks!  Have a terrific Tuesday!  Hugs!
