Sometimes I just want to use up a whole package of die cut feathers. So I do 😉
My layout focuses on the lovely feathers in the Marigold collection, I have a thing for feathers and I think I would put them on every layout if I could. I had a random photo of my little family, we took a series of selfies one afternoon and this photo is my favorite from the group because I’m cracking up and my girly is looking at me and my husband is the only one who actually did it right (for once, ha!).
I used a tiny bit of liquid adhesive on each feather, placing them a bit randomly on the background paper. I let them completely dry then stitched through each feather with my sewing machine using gold metallic thread.
The title is a cut file from Kerri Bradford Studio, cut from black cardstock and then stitched using the same gold thread I used for the feathers. I used black to tie in the color from the details on the feathers.
For some additional dimension I used flair badges from Treasure Island and You & Me collections, along with some tiny word stickers from the Woodland collection.
I layered the photo on a few pieces of patterned paper, added in some thread nests and my layout was done.
