Ad #2 – Gold Collage
Source:  Confetti & Co

I loved all the gold and glitter on this week’s OOTB inspiration collage, which immediately reminded me of festive occasions, with lots of good music and dancing, that always puts a smile on my face.  I love Pretty Little Studio’s cutout of a little boy playing his horn and a little girl in her pretty party dress; it was this cutout that I centered my project around as I thought it was perfect for my take on this week’s challenge.  To add to my festive theme, I used bright yellow paper, fussy cut balloons, and banners that I cut out.  I coated everything in Crackle Accents to give it a more distressed, aged look; and I used liberal amounts of glitter glue to make everything sparkle.  For extra dimension, I added a pop dot behind one of my balloons and used chunky letters to make “happy.”  Then I added my banner and the star button on top of the frame.

When I saw this picture, there were so many things I thought inspired! It’s a sketch, there is the idea for the title, the “confetti”… I created the title first. I could have used silhouette software to create this circle mask-but I am old school at times! I used thickers/letter stickers and a piece of paper to create this mask! (note: I put paper towels in addition where the lined paper ended and the 12×12 paper was showing-otherwise there will be overspray.) I know it is pretty primitive, but it does the job!! I then added gold spray in randomly as the “confetti”, and I followed the lead of the elements in the ad curving along the line of the title.  I almost always journal, so one of the sections I added was an area of journaling. I also drew a couple straight lines to better outline the elements. I can see using this photo again for future layouts! And I love that gold is back “in”!
