For the sketch challenge this week, I decided to make a card using bits and pieces taken from the sketch.

To start, I machine stitched the beautiful houndstooth patterned paper to my cardstock base. I wanted to use a tag since tags were a big part of the sketch, so I set the tag off to the left side of my card, in place of where a photo is shown on the sketch. Next I added a strip of the pretty yellow plaid to represent the largest stripe, then the best part, I added the cute little chick to represent the title area from the sketch.

Sketches can be fun to use, and definitely can be helpful if you have run into a creative block! Give one of our sketches a try, we would love to see what you come up with!

First of all, I want to start out by saying that scrapping with sketches is so fun and simple! It’s like the hard work has been done for you! This week, I used lots of Birthday Cake product for my layout. (It’s just too cute!) I rotated the sketch to begin with because some of the tags that I had picked out to use had pictures on them that would only work sideways. I mixed in a Polaroid frame, a mini picture card, and some patterned paper with the tags to add some interest to the sides of my layout. I then layered behind my photo, like the sketch shows, and then added my title and journaling. Last, I added my large numbers, the boy and girl diecut, and a few other embellishments! I used some of the new diecut files for my title. They were so easy to use with my Silhouette Cameo. Just download and cut! I hope you have time to play along this week! You don’t have to use Pretty Little Studio products, but you just might win a gift certificate to the PLS store so you can buy some!;)Have fun!
